A recent post about obscure muppet stuff by [livejournal.com profile] _dragonwolf_ prompted me to look into a couple of bizare old muppet specials I'd seen years ago. The first is from a story about a frog in a rainforest. The second is from The Christmas Toy, which did the concept of Toy Story before there was a Toy Story. These are snippets from each.

From [livejournal.com profile] zombie_dog, this is a meme where you get a color and list ten things you love that are that color. I was given brown.

Here are ten brown things I like.

1. Packages from Amazon - they're like little surprises except I ordered them.

2. Dr. Who's outfit - David Tennant version.

3. My hat - It's a fedora!

4. Chocolate - is there anyone who doesn't like chocolate?

5. Browncoats - I've got Firefly on the brain lately.

6. Clayface - He's a cool villain.

7. Chewbacca - what a wookie!

8. Hamburgers - I am a carnivore.

9. Brown hair - It's not the only color I like, but I do like it.

10. Sebastian Phule's mystery prop - some other players know what it is.

I want to try something different here, something inspired by this quote from Chuck. I want to solicit comments from others, telling me how awesome they are. That's right! I want you to tell me how damn cool you are, how ... AWESOME!

You know you're amazing. I know you're amazing. But isn't it great once a while to just boast about how great you are. You know you want to. I know I want you to.

Here - I'll start ... I create some of the best larps around. I am frikkin amazing when it comes to that. I am especially creative when inspired by music. Madness is my muse and I use it to great effect.

You may bow down and worship me now, unless you think you are more awesome than I.

Season 8 of Scrubs has been watched. I checked out part of an episode of Green Wing, enough to know I like it and would prefer to watch it in a manner other than on my computer. At some point, going to hook up computer to large tv and watch it that way. It's probably something I should have done a while ago to watch other streaming stuff that way. It's a 52" tv whose primary purpose is to make the zombies on Left 4 Dead look really good. Or to make games like Dead Space or Bioshock even creepier.

Currently watching season 2 of Big Bang Theory. It's a hilarious show, assuming you don't mind a show that makes fun of geeks. It amuses the hell out of me.

Next up, I'll be introducing my brother to season 2 of Chuck. I've seen it before, but I always enjoy the chance to rewatch something with someone who hasn't seen it. It's like seeing it again through their eyes. The shared experience makes it just as enjoyable.

Otherwise, I'm generally feeling in a really good place these days. While I am kind of burnt out on work and would like more days off in a row, like maybe just four, it's not stressful anymore. Gaming is fun. I'm enjoying Dragon Age immensely and I always enjoy killing me some zombies now and then.

I feel like there was something I wanted to pontificate about. You know, sound all pompous and important, because I know you like to hang on my every .......

.... word. But I think it has slipped my mind. Damn shame too. It was probably something brilliant. Or about soup. Or brilliant soup, the soup that thinks for you. Coming soon to a dream near you.

Yeah, whatever it was, it's gone now. I should have started writing when I thought of it. Oh well.

The God of email hated me again. When I tried logging in to retrieve messages, it would just spend five minutes thinking about it and retrieve maybe one message. For all I know, there are maybe other messages it just won't retrieve. If you sent something to me today, I might not have gotten. Or maybe I did, but just slower. I sure as hell can't tell.

One of the interesting tidbits of work is that we have different game systems set up to run game demos for people to try out. Currently, two systems are set up for Rock Band Beatles and Band Hero, respectively. It doesn't have full band set up, just guitars. It is nice listening to people play the songs now and then, because they actually play the complete song.

When people aren't playing them, the systems go into trailer mode. In this mode, it just runs through various song fragments from the game. It does this every couple of minutes. After a month or two of listening to that, they all start to blur together, until I start hearing things like this:

He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said, "I am the walrus. It's a love story. Baby just say Goo Goo G'joob."

or ...

Everybody was kung fu fighting in an octopus' garden, in the shade. Like whoa, whoa.

This is your brain on song fragments. Any questions? :)

As a random message of the day, this one from my brother, "Noodles are made from cats." I haven't a clue as to what the hell he is thinking. Maybe someone else can tell me. Even he doesn't know.

Edit - I think it might mean cats actually make the noodles, in a little shop somewhere.

Otherwise, I am making email progress today on various things I've been meaning to send emails on, such as a variety of emails to other crew members for Serendipity, to figure some crap out. Must get more of those out, plus figure out what my character has done for the past three years. Mostly, I think he's been roaming space, solving problems vaguely as a lawman for hire, doing whatever work he could get. But I want to come up with some more details than that, some actual cases and jobs to talk about as anecdotes in game.

... shove a metal rod in your brain, strip you naked and dump you into a rusty tank full of water." "I"m not saying I *want* to, just that I *can*." - Quote from Fringe

Today's subject is - 10 Lesser Known Smurfs

Surfer Smurf - Left the forest years ago to find the ocean.

Serial Killer Smurf - Most of the rest are less known because of him.

Background Smurf - Appears in every group photo.

Mute Smurf - He probably has a really interesting story, but we'll never know.

Murder Victim Smurf - Poor guy never had a chance.

Ninja Smurf - Died fighting Pirate Smurf

Pirate Smurf - See Ninja Smurf

Mad Scientist Smurf - He's only had one success to date.

Zombie Smurf - Mad Scientist's one success, cobbled together from pirate and ninja parts.

and of course...

Cross Dresser Smurf - Everyone technically knows this one already. There are *no* female smurfs. Period.

Today I had the grace of a lumbering ox on roller skates, with lobster claws for hands. It was truly stupendous how many things I kept dropping or bumping into. :)

After looking over the new entry of Intercon Jazz to the morning slot on Saturday, I have decided to go with that. It sounds more interesting than Limbo, but mostly I'm just a sucker for an amnesia game.

I'm also checking out twitter now. Just signed on today. I haven't actually attached it to my phone. I'm just reading it online. If it seems interesting, maybe I'll link my phone to it. Right now, I'm mostly just trying to figure out who is who on it, so I'll start following people as I figure that out.

Otherwise, today's helpful advice is - When preparing brain soup, always add the frontal lobe last. Too much simmering can destroy the thought processes that enhance the flavor.
