Yar! Players poked and pictures found.


I jabbed my Story Wars players with sticks today. Well, I jabbed those who had failed to return apps, the last nine remaining. Four of them got apps back to me, so I consider it a worthwhile jabbing. A fifth suddenly told me he wouldn't be going to Intercon this year and was glad I reminded him to drop his games. So, I am doubly glad I jabbed people. Otherwise, I would have cast someone who would then have not shown up to game. Theoretically, he would have said something along the way, but since casting is not final yet, I have a better chance of the new add in fitting in better, rather than sticking him with whatever role opened up.

Of course, last year, we had a replacement mid game. The person we cast as Ivanova last year panicked in the first hour of the game and bolted. I never got the complete story, but I think she was a fairly new player or something and she couldn't deal well with a crowd, and it is a large game. It was the first time I'd ever seen something like that happen.

witticaster filled in at the last second, as the game was going. Considering we don't write small sheets and she hadn't seen Babylon 5 before, she filled in fairly well. I believe she has corrected the horrible oversight of not having seen Babylon 5 by now.

Anyway, we only have five players who have not given us apps at this point. I'd like to give the new add in some time to respond, so I probably won't get casting info out this weekend like I had hoped. Maybe. We'll see.

Out of the five remaining, one is the new add. Three of the others are people I have at least heard back from in some fashion. There is only one remaining player I have had no contact with and it concerns me a little. She isn't a name I recognize, so I am slightly worried the player may be a flake, and might not show or something. I shall have to wait and see I guess.

Otherwise, I am trying to collect photos of larps I have run in the past. I have never taken any photos myself, but I believe others have and I would like to get copies of those photos. I plan to use Facebook as a place to collect such things.

So far, I got some photos of the first run of Story Wars, that the player of Captain John Hart took. There are a couple really good ones in there, particularly of keshwyn as Cortana and ladysprite as Chianna. I may have their lj names slightly off.
