I saw Pirates! at the Huntington tonight. It was a lot of fun, a cool show. It was mostly Pirates of Penzance with bits of Pirates of the Carribean thrown in, as well as some other stuff. Overall, it was done very well. The guy playing the Pirate King was very good. The Major General and Ruth also stood out to me. The others were good, but those three stood out the most to me. It was also cool to see the show with people I know. I derive enjoyment from seeing the reactions on the faces of those I'm with as well.
I think this might have been the first time I've ever gone into Boston to see a show. I definitely enjoyed the show. Whether I would do it again, I don't know. It's the getting in and out of Boston part I don't care for as much. If there was a better and less expensive way of getting in and out, I'd be more inclined to try it again. I've driven to MIT a lot in the past for larps, but that is easier to find parking around. In the past, you could find free parking on the street and I recall often parking in the ninja lot, though I don't think they allow that anymore. I'm not sure. It's been a while since I've been there.
Overall, I consider it a fun night. I'm still not sure what I'll be doing with my Saturday. Sunday is my normal day off, so I actually have the entire weekend off.
Otherwise, I have started rewatching Veronica Mars. With my brother, I'm almost done with watching season one of the Big Bang Theory. I have found it to be a surprisingly funny show. I mean, I thought I would find it funny, but it has hit the right spot more than I thought it would. I think I'm going to pick Jack of All Trades to watch next. It's fairly cheesy, but almost anything with Bruce Campbell is.
